This appointment comes at a critical moment for cryptocurrency policy in Washington, as senators are stepping up efforts to pass market structure legislation that would grant the CFTC broader regulatory authority over digital assets. The industry has long hoped for a leader well-versed in cryptocurrency to head the agency, and last weekend, dozens of industry insiders expressed their support via X.
