Ethereum-based Lighter L2 Opens Source After Audit, Releasing Full Verification Code for Perpetual and Spot Trading zk Circuits
According to COINOTAG News, on December 26 the Lighter team announced that its perpetual and spot trading zk circuits have completed an audit and are now open source. The release underscores a commitment to transparency and security for L2 on Ethereum, enabling external reviewers to verify the integrity of every order, cancellation, and settlement operation within the zk-based framework.
The project also publishes the full verification artefact, allowing independent validation by external parties. Developers can generate the ZkLighterVerifier via GitHub build scripts and run consistency checks against the deployed Ethereum contracts, enhancing the platform’s auditability and operational reliability.
By embracing open-source verification, Lighter aims to strengthen governance and enable ongoing security assessments across the zk-rollup ecosystem on Ethereum, delivering a more credible, verifiable L2 experience for traders and liquidity providers.
