According to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, advertisements may begin appearing in Apple Maps as early as next year.
Gurman notes that Apple intends to let physical businesses, such as restaurants, pay to have their locations featured more prominently in search results, much like Google Maps and similar navigation apps do. Although Apple already displays ads in the App Store, this move could signal a broader push to expand advertising across iOS.
Reportedly, Apple aims to set itself apart from rivals by offering a superior user experience and leveraging artificial intelligence to deliver more relevant suggestions.
Gurman raises the issue of whether Apple users might push back as Apple’s products and applications increasingly serve as platforms to promote additional Apple services.
