Are performance-enhancing substances capable of redefining human achievement? The founders behind the Enhanced Games believe so — and they’re launching a new sports competition to demonstrate it.

Supported by Peter Thiel and 1789 Capital, led by Donald Trump Jr., Enhanced Games seeks to challenge the Olympic model by permitting athletes to use performance enhancers. Set to debut in Las Vegas in May 2026, the event will offer $1 million rewards for shattered world records and adopts a business approach similar to Red Bull, using the event as a showcase for upcoming enhancement products.

On today’s episode of TechCrunch’s Equity podcast, Rebecca Bellan interviews Aron D’Souza, co-founder and president of Enhanced Games, discussing the enhancement industry, the process of innovating in the longevity sector, and who has access to these advancements.

Tune in to the complete episode to discover:

  • How the project has secured “tens of millions” in funding and brought on Olympic silver medalist Fred Kerley, whom D’Souza expects to surpass Usain Bolt’s 100m record at 31.
  • D’Souza’s view that Olympic anti-doping policies have hindered research into performance enhancement, and how embracing enhancements in sports could accelerate longevity innovations.
  • Enhanced’s intention to launch a telehealth service offering testosterone and weight-loss medications, which are still in development.
  • The broader social, financial, and moral questions raised by efforts to extend human lifespan.
