The UK government plans to retain $7 billion worth of seized stolen Bitcoin.
Jinse Finance reported that the UK government is seeking to retain most of the bitcoin seized from Zhimin Qian in 2018, which is valued at 5 billion pounds (approximately 7 billion US dollars). Zhimin Qian has pleaded guilty to charges of possessing criminal proceeds. The victims of this fraud case have filed a civil lawsuit aiming to seek compensation, with the first hearing scheduled for January. Legal experts state that under UK law, victims are entitled to compensation, but they may ultimately only receive an amount equivalent to the value of their losses at the time of the incident.
