Jinse Finance reported that Adrienne Harris, head of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), announced her resignation on September 29, ending her four-year term. During her tenure, she promoted the establishment of a virtual currency regulatory division and issued guidelines for cryptocurrency listings and stablecoin regulation, strengthening enforcement actions against institutions such as Genesis and Gemini. Governor Kathy Hochul has appointed Kaitlin Ascrow, the former deputy director of the new division, to serve as acting head starting October 18. In her statement, Harris said that during her term she "fought for consumer rights and consolidated New York's leading position in global regulation."
