Plasma distributes XPL tokens worth $8,390 to all users participating in the ICO pre-deposit program
According to ChainCatcher, citing Decrypt, Plasma has airdropped XPL tokens worth $8,390 for free to all users who participated in the ICO pre-deposit program, even if these users ultimately did not purchase tokens through the ICO. Plasma stated that within three hours of the launch of its mainnet beta, half of the ICO participants had already claimed their tokens.
Plasma is a layer-1 blockchain optimized for stablecoins, using the XPL token to power its staking-based consensus mechanism. The project is backed by investors including Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.
