A TON Foundation intern launched a token live on pump.fun and has now been dismissed.
BlockBeats News, September 15, the TON Foundation issued a statement saying, "We have noticed that the recent actions of a TON Foundation intern have raised some questions and concerns within the community. To clarify: this individual issued a personal meme token on pump.fun and promoted it on social media and livestreams using a personal X account with TON branding. During this period, some plans for the future of the token were also proposed, but shortly after, the related posts were deleted, the livestream was terminated, and the project was abandoned.
This was not an initiative of the Foundation, and the Foundation never approved or supported this project. However, since this person was responsible for managing the official TON X account and also used an account with TON branding to promote the token, we understand that this could cause confusion and undermine trust.
We take this matter very seriously. Such behavior does not align with our values and does not meet the standards we require of anyone representing the TON Foundation, regardless of their role. Effective immediately, the Foundation has terminated this individual's relationship with the TON Foundation for this reason."
