Orbit hacker's stolen assets increase by $46.5 million due to ETH surge, transfers another 4,320 ETH today
BlockBeats News, August 31, according to monitoring by EmberCN, after a year, the hacker who stole $81.5 million from Orbit Chain at the beginning of 2024 has once again transferred 4,320 ETH, worth $18.81 million, through Tornado cash.
After stealing the assets, the hacker converted most of the funds into ETH at a price of $2,301 and stored them. Now, the price of ETH has doubled compared to that time. The hacker has laundered a total of 17,242 ETH ($66.35 million) through Tornado cash, and the remaining assets that have not yet been transferred are still worth $61.6 million. The total value has increased by $46.5 million compared to the original $81.5 million stolen. The hacker's address currently holds 9,511 ETH, worth $41.6 million, and 20 million DAI.
