Wall Street Journal: Trump May Seek to Dismiss Federal Reserve Governor Cook
Foresight News reports, according to The Wall Street Journal, that Trump may attempt to dismiss Federal Reserve Governor Cook, who has been accused of mortgage fraud. Earlier this evening, U.S. Department of Justice officials stated that they have received a referral for a criminal investigation related to Federal Reserve Governor Cook and are treating the matter with utmost seriousness. Bill Pulte, a staunch Trump ally and Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, sent a letter to Justice Department officials suggesting that Federal Reserve Governor Cook may have committed criminal offenses. According to a copy of the letter disclosed by Bloomberg, Cook is accused of "forging bank documents and property records to secure more favorable loan terms, which may constitute mortgage fraud in violation of criminal law."
