OpenAI AI Model Defeats Grok in Chess Match
According to ChainCatcher, citing a report from Decrypt, OpenAI's o3 model defeated xAI's Grok 4 model with a score of 4:0 in the Google Kaggle Game Arena AI chess exhibition match.
World chess champion Magnus Carlsen assessed the playing level of both sides as equivalent to amateur beginners, with a rating of around 800. The competition rules required AI models to play without specialized training, and each turn allowed only four legal moves; any violation resulted in an immediate loss.
