MetaMask Disk Write Vulnerability, Consensys Promises Swift Fix
According to ChainCatcher, as reported by Cointelegraph, Consensys has confirmed an abnormal disk write vulnerability in the MetaMask browser extension, which has affected the lifespan of some users' solid-state drives (SSD). The company has stated that a fix will be released soon.
This issue causes MetaMask to continuously write data to solid-state drives in the background, reaching up to 500GB per day, which could significantly shorten SSD lifespan. Several users have already reported on GitHub that the vulnerability remains active, and the official team is actively working to optimize data write frequency and state size.
