According to a report by Jinse Finance, tariffs imposed by Trump have generated tens of billions of dollars in revenue for the government, but the burden has not been evenly distributed among the states. An analysis by the economic research firm Trade Partnership Worldwide reveals the cost of tariffs to each state from January to May. From January 1 to May 31 of this year, California faced tariff impacts as high as $11.3 billion, the highest in the nation so far. Texas ranked second with $6 billion, followed closely by Michigan at $3.3 billion. In the first five months of this year, companies in 17 states each bore at least $1 billion in tariff costs. In contrast, 11 other states had tariff burdens below $100 million, with Wyoming and Alaska suffering the least, each losing just over $16 million. Among the states most affected, more than half voted for Trump in the last election.
