Illicit volume on BSC rises 800% and drives BNB up
- Criminals dominate 51% of perp volume on BSC
- BNB records 12% increase in daily volume
- Stablecoins on BSC surpass $10 billion
Binance Smart Chain’s (BSC) dominance among major cryptocurrency ecosystems has reached a controversial milestone. In the past two months, the volume associated with criminal activity has skyrocketed by 800%, placing BSC responsible for 51,2% of all illicit operations observed on major L1 networks, according to recent perpetual volume data.
Just forget the noise, $ BNB is still holding strong.
Even with market uncertainty, BNB structure is clean after respecting the trendline and bouncing off major support, now eyeing a breakout above $700.

This rapid growth is strongly linked to the influx of speculative capital seeking aggressive returns. In the last month alone, perpetual trading volume on BSC totaled an impressive $31,75 billion, surpassing even giants like Ethereum and Solana in both monthly and daily performance.
This movement reveals a clear migration of traders to high-risk markets, with Binance Chain becoming the main field of action for leveraged strategies based on altcoins. However, the direct impact on BNB, the network's native token, is still a point of attention.
The significant increase in transactions has been increasing demand for BNB, reflected in the 12% increase in daily volume of the asset compared to the previous month. At the same time, on-chain liquidity is showing signs of strengthening, with the supply of stablecoins on BSC surpassing US$10,3 billion — the highest amount in two years, representing a monthly increase of almost 7%.
DEX data also shows that BNB traded $8,598 billion in volume on June 10, hitting its yearly high after rising to $674 in two weeks. Despite this, open interest in futures remains contained , hovering around US$800 million — well below the all-time high of US$1,4 billion recorded in December, when the asset reached US$750.
This divergence between spot and futures suggests that while the ecosystem is attracting aggressive capital, BNB still benefits primarily from spot trading. Even so, the token remains resilient, outperforming major projects month-to-month, while other cryptocurrencies are suffering drops of between 15% and 20% due to forced liquidations.
