Promise, an AI studio under a16z, partners with Google
On May 21, it was reported that generative AI studio Promise announced a partnership with Google to integrate Google's AI technology into its production pipeline and Muse workflow software. This collaboration will also include researchers from Google's DeepMind. The startup, backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), has received additional investment from the Google AI Futures Fund, Crossbeam Venture Partners, and North Road Company led by former News Corp president Peter Chernin. Founded by George Strompolos, Jamie Byrne, and Dave Clark, Promise aims to use generative AI tools to help Hollywood studios reduce production costs and accelerate content creation, and is currently working with industry stakeholders to develop multi-year content plans.
