Ubisoft launches Might and Magic with 1,000-plus NFT cards on Web3
Ubisoft has partnered with Web3 company Immutable (CRYPTO:IMX) to release Might & Magic: Fates, a blockchain-based strategy card game.
The game combines traditional strategic gameplay with blockchain technology, allowing players to own, trade, and customise NFT cards within the Might & Magic universe.
Might & Magic: Fates will be available on iOS and Android platforms.
The title introduces new mechanics, faction-based strategies, and a variety of legendary heroes and creatures.
“The game is free-to-play with no hard progression barriers. Players advance by collecting cards and in-game currency through gameplay,” said Justin Hulog, chief studio officer at Immutable.
He added that players can accelerate progression or acquire specific cards through marketplaces.
Hulog also noted that players will be able to trade their digital collectible cards on dedicated platforms.
Immutable will provide the blockchain infrastructure for the game, leveraging its experience with titles like Gods Unchained (CRYPTO:GODS) and Guild of Guardians (CRYPTO:GOG).
Gods Unchained is a free-to-play NFT trading card game where players collect, trade, and battle using unique player-owned cards.
It operates on Immutable’s gas-free layer-2 solution and is transitioning to Immutable zkEVM for improved functionality.
Guild of Guardians is a mobile RPG featuring NFT-based hero teams for dungeon raids.
Ubisoft has previously incorporated crypto elements in games such as Champions Tactics: Grimoria, launched on the Oasys (CRYPTO:OAS) layer-2 blockchain in October 2024.
In December 2024, Ubisoft and the Arbitrum Foundation released Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a Web3-enabled shooter featuring characters from multiple Ubisoft franchises.
Might & Magic: Fates continues Ubisoft’s exploration of Web3 gaming by integrating blockchain ownership with skill-based card strategy gameplay.
