ZKsync confirms airdrop contract admin key leak resulting in approximately $5 million in ZK being stolen and sold
According to ChainCatcher reports, the ZKsync official notification stated that the security team discovered that an admin account for the airdrop contract was leaked. Attackers controlled and sold approximately $5 million of unclaimed ZK airdrop tokens.
The incident was caused by the leak of a single key and did not affect the protocol itself or the ZK token contract. User funds remain safe. An official investigation is underway, and a detailed report will be released later.
