Former FTX (CRYPTO:FTT) CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has been relocated to the Federal Transfer Center (FTC) in Oklahoma City, days after an unsanctioned interview with political commentator Tucker Carlson.

The move, confirmed by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons on March 27, follows his temporary placement in solitary confinement at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) for violating interview protocols.

Bankman-Fried’s March 5 interview with Carlson, conducted remotely from MDC, reportedly lacked prior approval.

“I don’t think I was a criminal,” he said during the conversation, denying criminal wrongdoing.

He also defended former FTX Digital Markets co-CEO Ryan Salame, stating his charges were “totally bogus” and politically motivated.

The relocation marks Bankman-Fried’s second transfer to FTC Oklahoma City since his 2024 sentencing to 25 years in prison.

A federal judge had initially recommended keeping him in New York to facilitate appeals, but the latest move’s purpose remains unclear.

Since his bail revocation in August 2023, Bankman-Fried has been housed in multiple facilities.

His recent media outreach—including interviews with conservative outlets like the New York Sun—has sparked speculation about potential political maneuvering.

Reports suggest he may be seeking to appeal to Republican lawmakers or President Donald Trump, who recently pardoned Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht.

Bankman-Fried’s projected release date is November 2044, though early parole remains possible based on behavior.

The Bureau of Prisons has not clarified whether the Oklahoma transfer signals a permanent relocation or a temporary measure.

At the time of reporting, the FTX Token (FTT) price was $1.14.
