PNut's owner recently adopted a Miniature Dachshund named Howard
Mark Longo, the owner of PNut, said that he recently adopted a miniature dachshund named Howard and believes this puppy "might be" the reincarnation of his beloved squirrel PNut. "Seeing him running around outside and becoming best friends with cats reminds me of PNut."
34-year-old Mark Longo and his wife Daniela Bittner, 28, decided to adopt Howard from their neighbor two weeks ago despite their hesitation. "For me and my family, it was an emotional time... I hesitated whether to have a new pet because what happened made me uncertain."
They are still mourning for PNut who was cruelly taken away by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation staff in a raid on their home in Long Island and animal shelter on October 30th. The state government claimed they needed to test if it had rabies which requires decapitation as PNut bit one of the workers' hand during the incident.
