Analyst: Powell's comments slightly hawkish, Fed unlikely to change stance in future
PANews, Feb. 11 - According to Golden Ten, an agency's Fed sentiment model rated Powell's comments as slightly hawkish, but within the neutral range. Analysts Jersey and Hoffman said the recent attitude of Fed spokesmen suggests that in the next few meetings, the Fed will maintain its ‘stay put’ policy stance, and Powell is unlikely to change it. They said: ‘We are unlikely to get any new information or insight from today's congressional testimony on the Fed's reaction function, because the Fed is likely to stay put at least in the next meeting, and the banking committee's questions are more inclined to political statements than monetary policy issues.’
