U.S. Senate committee votes to approve Howard Lutnick's nomination for Commerce Secretary
U.S. Senate Committee voted 16-12 in favor of the nomination of Howard Lutnick as the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Lutnick is currently the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, which manages billions of dollars in U.S. Treasury business for Tether. As a public supporter of Bitcoin, Lutnick previously stated in an interview with CNBC, "I support cryptocurrency, but specifically, only Bitcoin. Other tokens are not considered."
