On February 3rd local time, the minority leader of the United States Senate and Democrat Chuck Schumer stated that the Trump administration's tariff policy is "the most foolish trade war in history." On February 1st, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing a 25% tariff on goods imported from Mexico and Canada. He also threatened to impose tariffs on European Union goods soon on the evening of February 2nd.
