The Bank of Japan raises interest rates by 25 basis points
As expected, the Bank of Japan has raised interest rates by 25 basis points, increasing the target interest rate from 0.25% to 0.50%. This is the largest increase since 2007, and the highest rate since October 2008. Since resuming rate hikes in March last year, the Bank of Japan has raised rates three times in less than twelve months.
