Bitcoin community celebrates minting of 1500 Pizza Ninjas
The Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) community is celebrating the release of the “Pizza Ninjas” collection, which features the largest file ever created on the Bitcoin blockchain.
The project, managed by OrdinalsBot, has successfully minted a collection consisting of 1,500 unique items, with the final piece, Pizza Ninja #1500, being a notable highlight.
This file, measuring 3.969429 MB, was minted by BTC miner MARA Holdings at block 873,893 on December 9.
Pizza Ninja #1500 is based on “Ralf,” a character from the on-chain game called Pizza Pets.
The Ordinals protocol allows data to be inscribed onto each satoshi, creating unique and potentially valuable digital assets within the Bitcoin network.
“Four meggers will remain on the network forever and already have significant market value,” Toby Lewis, co-founder of OrdinalsBot, stated.
He emphasised that the significance of having the largest file is not merely for bragging rights but for its permanence and value on the blockchain.
Brian Laughlan, another co-founder of OrdinalsBot, explained that creating a file exactly 4 MB in size is technically unfeasible due to network limitations.
He noted their ambition to surpass the size of existing files while addressing concerns about network congestion and transaction fees associated with Ordinals.
The Pizza Ninjas collection also serves as a nod to Bitcoin’s history, referencing the first known Bitcoin transaction when Laszlo Hanyecz exchanged 10,000 BTC for two pizzas on May 22, 2010.
Pizza Ninja #1500 is inscribed on what is referred to as the “black rare pizza sat” of each block’s last satoshi.
Additionally, the collection includes an interactive application developed with HTML and JavaScript, showcasing capabilities that are challenging to replicate on other platforms like Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH).
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin price was $97,261.89.
