Survey: 92% of Salvadoran respondents have not used Bitcoin for transactions, but the majority of respondents support President Bukele
According to a new survey by Francisco Gavidia University, only 7.5% of respondents in El Salvador said they use cryptocurrency for transactions, while 92% admitted they do not use cryptocurrency and only 1.3% believe that Bitcoin is the main direction for the country's future development.
In addition, about 58% of respondents said they believe the country is moving in the right direction and most support President Bukele. In an interview with Time magazine in August, President Bukele stated that fewer Salvadorans are using Bitcoin than expected, "Bitcoin has not been adopted as widely as we had hoped."
