On September 4, Justin Sun stated on X that SunPump has completed the destruction of $8 million in SUN tokens, with $4 million in destruction plans still pending.
As previously reported, on September 3, Justin Sun said that with regard to SunPump's revenue buyback and destruction, the community had previously recommended destroying liquid LP tokens, as this method is used by mainstream meme tokens such as SHIB. Destroying LP tokens has several advantages, including increasing the depth of token liquidity so that destroyed liquidity can still be utilized and being more compliant with regulatory requirements.
