Analyst comments on U.S. initial claims data last week: Affected by the hurricane, not a fundamental trend
Forexlive analyst Adam Button stated that the number of initial jobless claims decreased by 17,000 compared to the revised level of the previous week. This suggests that the increase in this data is more due to the impact of hurricanes rather than a basic trend. Although a decrease in initial claims is positive, an increase in continued unemployment claims indicates that some workers need more time to find new jobs. Given recent growth in this data, there has been some concern about it, but today's figures have returned to their original state, leading to a rise in the dollar.
