US pastor charged over alleged fraud, says God commanded him to create crypto project
American pastor Eli Regalado says he created the failed crypto project by God's command and is now expecting a miracle. He admitted that he and his wife took $1.3 million from investors and said God told them to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to renovate their house. On 29 January, he will have a chance to explain it all in court. Colorado securities officials say Pastor Regalado's actions were more like fraud. Last year, Regalado and his wife Kaitlyn launched a crypto token called INDXcoin. Last week, Colorado Securities Commissioner Tung Chan filed charges against the couple and the entity they ran, accusing them of keeping $1.3 million in crypto proceeds for themselves while more than 300 investors were unable to recoup their funds.
