🚀Introduction Switchboard is an oracle protocol based on Solana developed as open-source that unites smart contracts and real-world data. Oracles connect on-chain logic and off-chain data and what set Switchboard apart is its extent of customization. Rather than being confined to a specific collection of price feeds, anyone can spin up their own data feeds to whatever purpose is required - DeFi, games, Non-Fungible Tokens, insurance, or even IoT. The system heart is based on a queue architecture. Queues are sets of oracles that have different update frequency, rewards and decentralization rules. The fact that it is flexible allows the coexistence of multiple trust models, based on what a project requires. The other major innovation is the use of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) by Switchboard. These are safe havens within processors which contain confidential work such as key management and price aggregation. With these critical parts being run within TEEs, Switchboard makes it hard to be tampered with or manipulated in some way, which is very hard to achieve when using traditional oracle setups.
