US, UK, Japan to announce key interest rate decisions this week
This week the Federal Reserve, the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England will announce key interest rate decisions, with the Fed expected to keep policy steady but hinting at a rate cut soon; the likelihood of an easing of policy by the Bank of England is about 50 per cent, while the Bank of Japan is likely to either raise interest rates or hint at imminent action, with the Bank of Japan considering an increase in its short-term interest rate target to around 0.25 per cent, according to Japan's Times News Agency.
