Friend.Tech delays FRIEND airdrop distributions to Sunday
Quick Take Friend.Tech on Thursday revealed that its $5 million FRIEND airdrop has been delayed, with distributions likely to hit recipients’ wallets on Sunday, May 5.
Friend.Tech plans to airdrop $5 million in FRIEND tokens to thousands of its users on Sunday, several days behind schedule.
The $5 million worth of crypto will go to 6,000 wallets on May 5, Friend.Tech said Thursday in a post on X. The decentralized social platform initially planned to distribute the tokens on April 29.
Friend.Tech teased the postponement of its token distributions on Thursday in an X post.
“Omg I forgot it was supposed to be today, “ Friend.Tech said on X. “I’m letting the team know, we’re on it."
The cause of the airdrop distribution delay remains unclear.
Friend.Tech did not immediately reply to The Block’s request for comment sent outside of normal business hours.
The buzzy social media platform rose to prominence last August, shortly after its launch, courting controversy over its lack of a clear privacy policy and data usage disclosures.
