Nubila announces support for x402 payment protocol, ushering in a new era of AI autonomous payments
PANews, October 26 – Nubila announced that it will support the new internet payment protocol x402 and will soon announce its first strategic partner to jointly explore the integration of AI autonomous payments and the real-world data economy. The x402 protocol is based on the HTTP status code "402 Payment Required," enabling websites, AI, and APIs to autonomously make payments and settlements without the need for accounts or intermediaries—this means that in the future, AI Agents will not only be able to autonomously call data interfaces but also complete payments independently, realizing true "machine-to-machine payments." Through x402, Nubila's Weather API will become one of the world's first real-world data interfaces to support AI automatic payment access. When AI calls Nubila's weather data, it can directly pay a small amount of stablecoins (such as USDT), and contributors who provide real-world data will instantly receive on-chain rewards. Nubila stated that this move marks a key step at the intersection of "AI × DePIN × Payments," as it builds a foundational layer for the free flow of real-world data, intelligent systems, and value.
